Lust list 006.

October 31, 2012

001. Whilst I was in John Lewis the other week, I was intrigued by the prettiness of this little bottle of perfume. It's such a lovely, light and sweet fragrance, I can't wait to own it!

002. My current shampoo is almost finished and I generally tend to buy sulfate-free ones these days, so I think I'll give this one a try if I don't end up buying a Burt's Bees one.

003. I think this cushion cover would add the perfect little amount of glam to my bed, plus it's pink. Pink always wins.

004. I'm constantly burning candles and tea lights, and I just think this holder is so sweet.

005. I own quite a few glitter nail polishes now but I've yet to buy a gold one. This one is so perfect for the festive season!

006. The colour combination in this top is really pretty, plus it's really cheap in the sale! I think it would look nice tucked into disco pants.

007. These are so cute! It's already getting quite freezing here and I do need a new pair of gloves but mittens are even nicer.

008. Another perfect autumn/winter choice, the print on this bag is just lovely.

Tag | I ♡ fall.

October 30, 2012
I've seen this tag going around Youtube and some blogs, and I think it's a cool one so wanted to join in! Fall (going to refer to it as autumn as I'm in the UK) is one of my favourite times of the year as I love the in between seasons the most. I tag all of you lovelies! Let me know if you post it too, I'd be interested in reading your answers :)

001. Favourite fall lip product?

The product I've loved for the past couple of years is the Models Own blackberry lip tint but I have a feeling it's not available anymore :( It smells so good! Any reds at all really but I love Bourjois Sweet Kiss '56' as I feel it's really moisturising.

002. Favourite fall nail polish?

So many! I love Illamasqua 'unnatural', Barry M 'fuschia', and also I know I'm going to be loving Barry M ' amethyst glitter' even though I only just bought it!

003. Favourite Starbucks fall drink?

I'm actually not a massive Starbucks fan (sorry, loyal to Costa), but I would like to try some of their seasonal drinks this year. Lattes are my favourites.

004. Favourite fall candle?

Berries/cinnamon/apple.

005. Favourite fall scarf or accessory?

Mittens! They're so cute. And snoods. I get so cold if my neck isn't covered. I'm just one of those annoying people who are always cold.

006. Haunted house, haunted hay ride or haunted corn maze?

A maze sounds like my kinda thing but I've never really heard of the last two for Halloween here. I love haunted houses but they're never scary enough. Might take a trip to the Edinburgh dungeons this year as I haven't been for absolutely ages.

007. Favourite Halloween movie?

I love all the actual Halloween movies, Michael Myers is still one of my biggest fears haha (he doesn't run, he just walks to chase people, seriously creepy!) I also love the Scream movies and anything that seems more realistic like The Strangers. Then for fun ones, I love Hocus Pocus and Casper Meets Wendy. Really want to watch the last one now!

008. Favourite candy to eat on Halloween?

I can't eat a lot of the jelly type sweets as I'm vegetarian, but I do have a very sweet tooth so anything veggie friendly. Love fizzy/sour sweets. And chocolate of course.

009. What are you dressing up as for Halloween?

I don't ever really do anything for Halloween :( I'd love to be Catwoman though, wearing latex for an evening would be interesting plus I could just communicate through miaowing.

010. What is your favourite thing about fall?

Ooh, so many things. I watch creepy movies all year round, but I especially love doing it in autumn as it's the Halloween season! I also love lighting candles more often, going for walks through forests, fireworks night, baking anything cinnamon flavoured, bonfires at the beach, eating more heartwarming breakfasts. I could go on forever.

Coat | H&M
Top | Indie Chic boutique
Lace crop top | Urban Outfitters
Skirt | Indie Chic boutique
Boots | Daisy Street

Hi lovelies, hope you're all having a nice weekend so far. A little while ago I started blogging for an Edinburgh store called Indie Chic boutique. You might remember I did a giveaway featuring a pair of earrings from their store. This is only my second outfit post for them, but I thought I'd feature it here also as I really love the colours in this!

You can head over to their blog here if you'd like a more detailed description of the items. Both of them are really great quality and feature such lovely detail. I especially love the velvet feel of the figure-hugging skirt.

This coat is also a new addition to my (winter) wardrobe. I'd spied it a few times in H&M and resisted the urge but whilst I was in Glasgow with my sister last weekend I decided to go for it. I adore faux fur collars for the colder months, even if this one is pretty massive!

Pop phone.

October 26, 2012

Hey sweeties! I wanted to introduce you all to one of the coolest phone accessories I've ever seen. This retro plug in phone is now best friends with my Iphone 4. It may seem like it'd be a nuisance but it's honestly so lovely and convenient to use. I hate how hot my phone gets when I've been talking on it for a while, plus I just get tired holding it. The Pop Phone is really light to hold and it also has a simple hang up button on the inside of the grip.

It's perfect for taking me back to the good old days of the 90s when I kept begging my parents to let me have my own household phone in my bedroom. I've already had so much use out of it, and if you're brave enough you could even take it out with you in your bag.

New in | Superdrug, Lush, H&M.

October 17, 2012

Hey sweeties, as promised here are the things I treated myself to at the weekend. I wasn't feeling too guilty as I hadn't been buying anything since my last featured purchases and plus it's pay day this week too :) I'm so happy with everything I bought!

001. I nipped into Superdrug and picked up these goodies - Vitamin E hot cloth cleanser, Yoghurt smoothie mask, Chocolate orange self-heating mask, Accessorize merged baked blusher in 'wowzer', Eyelure naturalite lashes in '116' (double pack), Collection 2000 extreme 24 hour felt tip liner, Cosmopolitan blend perfection sponge.

I've yet to try the face masks and the hot cloth cleanser, but unless they give me a weird reaction I know I'll love them - the scents of the face masks should be amazing! Everything else I have used and they are all really good. The false lashes are perfect for daily wear which is what I wanted and the sponge applies foundation so nicely. The Accessorize blush is also very similar to Mac mineral blushes.

002. I finally set foot back in Lush as I always seem to overlook it and never actually go in. I was so happy to see they have their Christmas stock and bought this medium size bottle of Snow Fairy right away. Oh my goodness, it's perfect! I also got 'It Started With a Kiss' lip tint which again is lovely for every day use to add a little colour to the lips.

003. Finally I went to H&M and bought this neon bright aztec print cardigan (can't find same colour online, different version here). I love the bright colours and it's so comfy to wear! I also got a lovely pair of faux leather shorts. I've been after a pair like this for a while now, and I know they'll be perfect for autumn/winter with tights :)

Oh deer.

October 14, 2012

Shirt | Dorothy Perkins
Skirt, shoes & bag | Primark
Ring | Urban Outfitters
Lipstick | Rimmel lasting finish 'heart breaker'

Hello all you lovelies, I'm finally showing off this beautiful deer print shirt I featured in my last new buys post. I love it so much! It's really comfortable to wear and looks perfect tucked into anything high-waisted. This skirt has always been one of my favourites, it goes with so many things and it's such a cute little length. I wore this outfit when I went out for a meal, and felt a darker hue on the lips was appropriate. It's actually a bit more purple in reality, a really nice autumn shade.

The other day I treated myself to another mini shopping spree, so I'll have that post up for you next :)
Hope everyone has a lovely Sunday. Oh, I decided to re-activate my twitter so feel free to follow me even though I don't post much of interest!

Review | Harajuku Lovers Sunshine Cuties "G".

October 11, 2012

I thought I'd do a little review of one of my favourite fragrances, I have featured it before but never really talked about it properly. I'm obsessed with coconut based products, they remind me of sunny days but also cosy pampering times at home.

This is from the Sunshine Cuties range but I believe the normal "G" perfume is also very similar in scent. I'm not a perfume expert so I've done a little searching to find out the notes for you. It features top notes of coconut water, mandarin and bergamon. Middle notes are white peach, heliotrope, exotic tiare flower and orange flower. Then the base notes are vanilla bean, tonka, skin musk and creamy sandalwood.

Basically...it's yummy! As it's an EDT, it doesn't last too long on the skin but there's nothing wrong with spraying some more :) I got mines off eBay for £10 and the perfume itself has lasted me a long time even though it's the smallest 10ml size. I think the bottles are so cute and look forward to collecting more (I also have the original Baby one).

I've been wearing it a lot again lately just because the weather has been getting slightly miserable and this one does cheer me up. I'm also trying to put off the fact that my Vera Wang Princess is almost empty, boo. Overall, if you love coconut then this one is for you!

Model's Own Sophie's Pink & Ibiza Mix | Boots

Afternoon sweeties! Hope you've all been having a lovely weekend. Last night I went out for a family meal and ate far too much pizza and chips...and then pancakes. Mmm.

Thought I'd share my favourite nail combination at the moment. I never for a second doubted that pink and glitter wouldn't be perfect! I'm a girly girl to the core (wait until you see my new phone cover). This is the perfect deep bubblegum pink, and like all Model's Own polishes, it applies like a dream and dries quickly. I'm also really impressed with the Ibiza Mix polish, so happy to finally have it in my collection.

What is your favourite nail polish at the moment?

Lust list 005.

October 04, 2012

001. I love pom pom hats for the autumn/winter, and along with the cupcake one I previously featured, I think this is my second favourite one.

002. I'm sure you all know my love for deer by now, this jewellery holder is just perfect! I'm currently painting all my furniture white so I'll be treating myself to some new household items once I'm finished.

003. I'm not ashamed to admit I completely adore both these Britney fragrances, they're just so sweet and yummy! I love that they are now both combined together.

004. Another really cool pillowcase from H&M, I think this would go nicely with my white floral bedsheets.

005. Maybe this sounds weird, but when I'm trying to focus on snacking healthier, I find it easier and more enjoyable when I'm eating from cute bowls or plates. Next also have them in plate form and larger bowls.

006. I'm completely in love with the colour of these vintage-look pyjamas. I know they're not exactly warm enough for winter but they would look perfect underneath a cosy cardigan.

Recipe | Chocolate brownies.

October 02, 2012

Afternoon everyone! As I mentioned, on Saturday afternoon my sister and I baked some brownies. I'll just admit this now - I actually don't really like chocolate brownies. I always find them far too sickly and double chocolate anything just isn't my thing. But I still wanted to have a good recipe I could turn to should I ever want/need to make them. I can happily say that my boyfriend and everyone in my family loved them :)

Makes around 9 or 18 brownies, depending on what size you prefer.

   100g dark chocolate, chopped
   85g milk chocolate, chopped
   115g unsalted butter, diced
   300g caster sugar
   1tsp vanilla extract
   2 large eggs, beaten
   100g plain flour
   50g self-raising flour
   30g cocoa powder

   Directions:

   1. Heat oven to gas mark 3, then grease and line a square tin with greaseproof paper.
   2. Heat the dark chocolate, 25g of milk chocolate and butter in a bowl over a pan of simmering water.
Stir until smooth and leave to cool slightly.
   3. Add the sugar, vanilla and beaten eggs to the melted chocolate and butter. Mix to combine.
   4. Sift the plain and self-raising flours and the cocoa powder into the bowl and mix until smooth.
   5. Fold in the remaining milk chocolate.
   6. Spoon into the prepared tin, spread level and bake for 30-35 minutes (use a cocktail stick to check
that they are still very slightly gooey in the middle, that's when they are perfect).
   7. Leave to cool in the tin and dust over some icing sugar if you like. Then cut into squares and serve
with some ice cream or spray cream. Enjoy!
