A little beauty haul.

March 13, 2016

I'll start this post by saying that I'm trying to be as conscious as I can when buying beauty products from now on. I've always wanted to only buy things which are not tested on animals, and I feel like now is the right time to try and change that. However, I'm realising how difficult it is to really know as most companies/products which say they are cruelty free are actually owned by parent companies who aren't....argh. So I know that some of the products here are therefore not officially cruelty free, which is so frustrating. Anyway, I still wanted to put this post up but if you have any advice please leave it below :)

The stars of this post are the Barry M Flawless products. When I first tested the foundation on the back of my hand (palest shade of course), I thought it might be a little too dark but it's actually perfect. It lasts really well and gives such a nice finish. The primer smells so lovely and I do think it makes a difference in how my makeup looks. Either way, it feels nice on the skin.

Everything I've ever tried from Superdrug's own skincare ranges has always impressed me. The Naturally Radiant range is just lovely. I've also tried the night cream and their 2 in 1 moisturiser/serum and I just love the herbal smell these products have.

Whilst the Impulse vanilla spray and Original Source lemon shower gel do smell amazing, I won't be purchasing them again. This switch will take me a while I know, and I still have a lot of products to use up or get rid of, but it is something I do really care about and so I will make as much effort as I can.

Fox print.

March 08, 2016

Since I bought this skirt I've worn it sooo much. Actually, same goes for the shirt. They're definitely two of my favourite H&M purchases from last year. The fox print is the cutest thing, and as the shirt is only just past waist length, it looks perfect with high-waisted jeans as well. This Topshop cape is something I've owned for many years, I remember getting it in one of their sales. It's not something I'd wear often but I kind of liked how it went with this outfit (plus the satin inside matches the skirt).

I hope you all had a lovely weekend whatever you did. I spent Friday evening and Saturday afternoon in Dunbar at my boyfriend's family home (while they were away, getting to pretend we own a fancy house hahaha). It was nice to get a little break away even if it was just a 20 minute train journey to get there :)

Pancakes at The City Cafe.

March 04, 2016

Yesterday my sister and I decided to go out for some late afternoon food. After trying to convince ourselves that we wanted something healthy at Hula (they do amazing juices/smoothies and lots of gluten free treats), we couldn't deny the call of some maple syrup covered pancakes. So instead we went to The City Cafe. I'll also add that they do an all day veggie breakfast, mmm the temptation was high!

The place itself is supposed to be like an American diner, so think lots of retro movie posters, classic booth seating areas and bright neon lights. It has a really nice atmosphere and the prices are decent. They also have a full bar, which means I've started quite a few nights out here with my friends. It helps that it's very close to all the good clubs too.

In conclusion, pancakes are love, pancakes are life.

Etsy finds #1 | Homeware edition.

March 01, 2016

I think for as much time as I spend browsing eBay for bargains, I spend just as much on Etsy drooling over all the unique things they have to offer. I have almost 50 pages of favourites, it's getting out of hand haha. Anyway, I thought I'd start sharing some of the things I find and maybe give you a little bit of inspiration or help you find something you love. I'm starting with a homeware post because who doesn't love homeware?!

The first is a printable purchase, and I just love the sweet message against the marble. I know minimalism is such a big thing at the moment and I feel this would suit the theme well. How sweet is this little woodland print mug? I'm a sucker for anything which features deer. I absolutely love the wooden triangle shelf. I think alongside crystals, it would look great with a few little bottle of perfumes in there.

I've not gotten into keeping plants in my room (mostly because my room is still a work in progress aka quite a mess) but I just love the simplicity of these hanging air plants. Also, copper. These little diy paper garlands are available in different options (think cats & dogs) but I really like this plant one. I sadly missed out on the one which featured pugs, but there is a sausage dog one(!) Lastly, we have a Van Gogh print, and it's just one I've always found so pretty, the colours are amazing.

What do you think of my finds? Do you have any to share?
