Dungaree dress.

May 01, 2016

Dungaree dress | Primark
Top | Urban Outfitters
Necklace | Topshop

So continues my love affair with pinafores/dungarees <3 I can't help it, they instantly make a top look so much cuter. This particular one was of course cheap as chips but I don't think it looks too different to the ones you would see in Topshop for example. This long sleeved top is definitely one of my favourite sale finds from Urban Outfitters, I just love the colour and I think it looks perfect with some pink lipstick. I wish I could remember what this necklace stands for, without sounding too ignorant it's either love or peace, I do know that :P

I hope everyone's had a nice weekend and that you have lovely plans for the week ahead. I'm actually hopping on a train to London tomorrow morning for a 5 day holiday with my family. I believe there's going to be actual sunshine there so I can't wait! ;)

Marble.

April 28, 2016

Shirt | Lavish Alice
Jeans | Topshop
Boots | Primark
Necklace | ASOS
Earrings | F21

I hastily purchased this shirt on eBay without thinking that I already had a few white patterned shirts, woops. I guess you can't have too many though, and marble print is just so nice. It's quite an oversized fit as well which I like as it keeps it's casual edge. Oh these jeans do have tiny little holes on the bum thanks to my rats chewing them. Not quite the ripped look I'd be going for haha. And I know the photo of my boots isn't the loveliest, but I've been wearing them non-stop (including nights out) so they've been through a lot.

Anyway, I hope you're all well and are having a great Thursday. I'm off to yoga in a bit to let my stomach feel the burrrrn :)

What Claire ate | 001.

April 05, 2016
I've been making more of a conscious effort lately to not only eat healthier, but also to include more vegan foods/meals into my already vegetarian diet. It's actually crazy how much better you feel after even just a couple of days of focusing on what you put into your body. I do eat a fair amount of gluten free stuff as well because it can make me feel like the most bloated thing on earth even though I'm not officially intolerant. I'm not saying that I eat like this all of the time because believe me I do have my lazy days when the thought of even making a smoothie is just....no, but hopefully these little food snippets will give you some inspiration :)

BREAKFASTS

So I made my first ever smoothie bowls and they were delicious! The green one is bananas, pineapple, unsweetened almond milk & some spirulina powder, and the pink one is bananas, blueberries, raspberries, unsweetened almond milk, some vanilla & maca powder. The granola I added on top of both is a yummy gluten free nut/raisin mix one. Also been adding chia seeds, I really want to try out a chia seed pudding some time soon. The middle breakfast was just some coconut soya yoghurt with the granola and some kiwi.

LUNCHES/SNACKS

The wrap I discovered in Sainsburys is so yummy. It's nice to be out and about and not feel guilty about the snack you've picked up. The Bounce ball tastes like cookie dough, and the tomato corn rolls are amazing. They're basically tortillas rolled up and I found them so addictive. Lastly, a sandwich with some of my favourite things - gluten free quorn chicken, spinach & tomato.

DINNERS

Yes, I like broccoli. And yes I do chuck quorn into most of my pasta/rice dishes haha. My favourite thing from all these dishes has to be sweet potato fries, mmm! I love making these and I could honestly eat about 3 bowls of them. The first dinner out is from when I went through to Glasgow with my boyfriend and we visited Stereo. I got tomato & vegan sausage gnocchi with garlic bread and salad, it was soooo good. The other meal is from Paradise Palms here in Edinburgh. It was the most delicious vegan hot dog ever! Featuring onion rings and rosemary fries on the side, ahh take me back now.

That's it for my first food post, hopefully it was enjoyable but if you follow me on Instagram you're probably sick of seeing some of these photos haha. Right now I'm off to try some waffles at a vegan cafe with my sister, drooling at the thought! Hope you have a great day!

A little beauty haul.

March 13, 2016

I'll start this post by saying that I'm trying to be as conscious as I can when buying beauty products from now on. I've always wanted to only buy things which are not tested on animals, and I feel like now is the right time to try and change that. However, I'm realising how difficult it is to really know as most companies/products which say they are cruelty free are actually owned by parent companies who aren't....argh. So I know that some of the products here are therefore not officially cruelty free, which is so frustrating. Anyway, I still wanted to put this post up but if you have any advice please leave it below :)

The stars of this post are the Barry M Flawless products. When I first tested the foundation on the back of my hand (palest shade of course), I thought it might be a little too dark but it's actually perfect. It lasts really well and gives such a nice finish. The primer smells so lovely and I do think it makes a difference in how my makeup looks. Either way, it feels nice on the skin.

Everything I've ever tried from Superdrug's own skincare ranges has always impressed me. The Naturally Radiant range is just lovely. I've also tried the night cream and their 2 in 1 moisturiser/serum and I just love the herbal smell these products have.

Whilst the Impulse vanilla spray and Original Source lemon shower gel do smell amazing, I won't be purchasing them again. This switch will take me a while I know, and I still have a lot of products to use up or get rid of, but it is something I do really care about and so I will make as much effort as I can.

Fox print.

March 08, 2016

Since I bought this skirt I've worn it sooo much. Actually, same goes for the shirt. They're definitely two of my favourite H&M purchases from last year. The fox print is the cutest thing, and as the shirt is only just past waist length, it looks perfect with high-waisted jeans as well. This Topshop cape is something I've owned for many years, I remember getting it in one of their sales. It's not something I'd wear often but I kind of liked how it went with this outfit (plus the satin inside matches the skirt).

I hope you all had a lovely weekend whatever you did. I spent Friday evening and Saturday afternoon in Dunbar at my boyfriend's family home (while they were away, getting to pretend we own a fancy house hahaha). It was nice to get a little break away even if it was just a 20 minute train journey to get there :)
