New in | Mini ASOS haul.

July 31, 2012

Hello all you pretty things! Sorry I've gotten a little slow with my posting lately, I just haven't found the time to take decent outfit photos. But in my next one I have a gorgeous dress to show you!

So far today I've done a little food shopping with my dad and then we went for a coffee (mmm Costa). The sun is shining which makes me feel so happy :) My mood will change soon enough though as I have to go to work haha.

As I was just paid, I decided to treat myself to a few bits online - mostly ebay finds - but here is what I fancied on ASOS! My first ever Dahlia purchase, and it really is lovely. I do wish it fitted a little better on the waist but it was a very decent sale price so I'm not complaining too much! I also got the Motel jeans in the sale, I've wanted these for soooo long, they're beautiful. Then a simple high-necked crop top and a really cool eye necklace.

Anyway, thanks to people who still continue to join my blog even when I'm not posting too often :) I'll leave you with a couple of quick photos of me wearing my new things. Hope you all have a great evening.

Recipe | Blueberry cupcakes with pink vanilla frosting.

July 25, 2012

Bonjour! Hope you're all having a nice day, it's lovely weather here in Edinburgh - sunny but not too hot. Early in the afternoon I went to see the new Batman movie ahhh, perfect, I could gush on forever about it. So many beautiful men playing amazing roles. Joseph Gordon-Levitt is one of my top crushes ever, I'm really excited to see if he will become a certain superhero.

Anyway, today I have a post about these yummy cupcakes which I've been mentioning. I was in the mood for something with berries, and in the end we chose blueberries. They created such a lovely consistency within the cakes. And our frosting ended up pretty thick but it's yummier that way! These would also be great without the frosting as breakfast muffins.

Makes 10 large cupcakes/muffins.

For the cakes:

155g sugar
125g unsalted butter
1/3 cup freshly squeezed orange juice
2 eggs
225g self-raising flour
1/4 tsp vanilla extract

For the frosting:

250g unsalted butter
575g icing sugar
1/4 cup milk
1 tsp vanilla extract
Few drops red food colouring

Directions:

1. Preheat oven to gas mark 4.
2. Mix together the sugar & butter until smooth, then add the orange juice, eggs, flour and vanilla, continuing to mix.
3. Fold in the blueberries with a spatula.
4. Spoon the mixture into cake cases and place in the oven for around 20 minutes (do the cocktail stick check to see if they're ready).
5. Leave them to cool.
6. Prepare icing making sure you have let the butter melt to room temperature before starting.
7. Place the butter in a bowl and gradually add the icing sugar, milk and vanilla, and beat it until light and fluffy.
8. Pop the icing in a piping bag and pipe onto the cupcakes.
9. Decorate however you wish but a simple blueberry placed on top looks nice!

Hi everyone! Hope you all had a lovely weekend. I feel like my weekend passed me by in a flash even though I didn't do very much. Though my sister and I did bake cakes like I said we would. I'll probably do a post about them next :)

I completely adore this dress and feel bad for it getting lost amongst all the others in my wardrobe. I definitely need to wear it more. It's such a pretty little thing, perfect for wearing whilst baking cakes ;) Oh and the necklace! My boyfriend bought this for me a couple of years ago but I've recently found it again, I really thought it was gone for good. I think it's just the sweetest and I love Alice in Wonderland.

Right now I'm off to eat one of our yummy cakes and then head off to work, have a nice night!

Afternoon sweeties! Sorry I haven't posted in a little while, I've been working a lot and just haven't had the energy to take outfit photos. But here is the outfit I wore yesterday. I think it's quite a simple combination, but I just love the way this skirt brightens up any outfit. And I'd forgotten all about this deer necklace; I have quite a few different ones (obviously because I'm obsessed).

Other than working, I finally went to see the Katy Perry movie (I love her even more now) and have been buying new things here and there. When I've gathered enough I'll probably do a haul post :)

This afternoon my sister and I are going to bake something, not sure what yet but I have a lot of recipes saved which I want to try out. And I have a feeling I will finally place a new order on ASOS as I've had things 'saved for later' on there for light years!

Evening lovelies! Hope you're all having a lovely Saturday. I slept until 2pm as I've been up early every day, mmm sleep is good.

A little while ago I was sent this pretty blouse from ShopAKIRA. You all know I love polka dots and collars, I couldn't resist. I definitely wanted to pair it with red lips, so I chose jeggings which were also in the same colour family. It's a very floaty and comfortable blouse to wear, I prefer tucking it into things to create a nicer shape. Ahh and I'm in love with my little leopard necklace, isn't he cute?

Anyway, I'm now off to babysit for the night and eat lots of pizza, take care!

Hey everyone, gosh I'm trying not to fall asleep as I type this. You know sometimes when you go to sleep and then it's time to wake up yet it only feels like you shut your eyes for a few minutes? Yeah, that's how I started my day haha. I spent my morning/afternoon at work, then I bought some new candles and ate too many bagels (completely addicted to the cinnamon & raisin ones, mmm).

Went for a comfortable outfit as I knew I'd be walking home (slowly). This is one of my favourite cardigans, I love the colour and it has a really pretty design on the back which I'll probably show another time. And of course, peter pan collars are always cute :)

Thanks for all your lovely comments on my bike, I adore it so much. My boyfriend let me choose all the colours/patterns and then built it for me. Anyway, hope you're all having a lovely night, I'm off to continue being zombified.

Evening lovelies! Little bit of a casual outfit of the day this time, as I spent my afternoon off cycling around with my boyfriend. Every time I'm out cycling I spend most of my time "aww"ing at all the lovely dogs which pass me by. I'll probably end up crashing into a tree some day because of their distracting cuteness.

Anyway I don't have anything very interesting to say, but my next outfit will be more blog worthy. Urgh, and PLEASE let me apologise for my roots! So hideous, I will stop being lazy and fix them tomorrow haha.

You say that I need therapy, well, my darling, so do you.

Evening pretties! I didn't get the chance to post these earlier so yeah they're a little late :) Anyway this is what I wore today. The top is actually a halterneck but I just paired it with a cardigan so didn't need to worry about unsightly bra straps. I really love these shades of pink and purple together, but then again I love anything pink. I also have the top in blue gingham, they're both so cute.

Hope you're all well, enjoy the rest of your night!
